Hatgyi Dam is not only about Environment but also Human rights!

A lot of people will die because of Hatgyi dam!!!
We, ASEAN Youth Movement accompanied with Community representatives, Friends of Burma, NGO-COD North, TACDB and TERRA, gathered in front of Parliament House and protested against Hatgyi dam construction on the Salween River in Karen state, Burma.
Stop Salween Dam!!!
Apart from environmental issue as we all know, Hatgyi dam is also located at conflicted area in Karen state. It means that human rights violations will severely happen in this area because of dam construction.
EGAT, why do you still need dam(n)???
We want to address our concern points to Thai Government because Thailand’s Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) is the one of investors who implemented Hatgyi Dam project in association with Burma’s Ministry of Electric Power and China’s Sinohydro Corporation.
Finally, PM Abhisit Vejjajeva or any Minister, did not appear and receive petition letter.
