โดย ทิพย์อักษร มันปาติ, 26 มกราคม 2553 ตลอดหลายสิบปีที่ผ่านมา ทิศทางการพัฒนาประเทศที่คิดมาจากศูนย์กลางของอำนาจรัฐ แนวคิดการพัฒนาที่เน้นเศรษฐกิจประเทศให้ก้าวหน้า โดยที่คนท้องถิ่นไม่ได้ร่วมกำหนดอนาคตความเป็นไปของตนเอง ได้เปลี่ยนภาคอีสาน ผืนดินที่เคยอุดมสมบูรณ์ด้วยทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ป่าไม้ แหล่งน้ำและอาหาร ที่ประกอบสร้างวิถีชีวิตของคนท้องถิ่น สร้างวัฒนธรรม “เฮ็ดอยู่เฮ็ดกิน” พอยังชีพ อาศัยธรรมชาติ ดูแลธรรมชาติ ไปสู่ภาวะหนี้สินและความยากจนมากยิ่งขึ้น การพัฒนาที่ไม่สนใจเรื่องความเท่าเทียม การพัฒนาที่มุ่งแต่จะสร้างความมั่งคั่งจากการขูดทรัพยากรทุกอย่าง ทั้งบนดินและใต้ดินออกมาขาย การพัฒนาที่ไม่รู้จักรากเหง้าของตัวเอง ได้บั่นทอนศักยภาพของคนในการเข้าถึงทรัพยากรมากยิ่งขึ้น ฐานทรัพยากรอาหารธรรมชาติ ภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นที่มีคุณค่าและสามารถพัฒนาให้สอดคล้องกับนิเวศวัฒนธรรมได้อีกมาก ถูกรุกทำลายมากขึ้น และสิ่งเหล่านี้คงกลายเป็นเพียงเรื่องเล่า หากไม่ยืนหยัดรักษาไว้

มาลี สุปันตี เครือข่ายเกษตรกรรมทางเลือก ภาคอีสาน กิจกรรมนอกสถานที่ นอกห้องเรียน นอกรั้วโรงเรียน ถือเป็นกิจกรรมที่เด็ก ๆ ชอบ บางคนกล่าวว่าขอเพียงให้ได้กวาดขยะ ออกนอกเขต รั้วโรงเรียนก็เป็นความสุขแล้ว และมีหลากหลายประสบการณ์ของวัยเด็กของท่านที่จดจำได้ถึงความสุข ที่ไม่ได้ถูกจำกัดอยู่ในห้องเรียน รั้วโรงเรียน และกิจกรรมวันนี้ของเด็กนักเรียนในชมรมบำเพ็ญประโยชน์ โรงเรียนผดุงนารี อ.เมือง จ.มหาสารคาม ก็เช่นกัน การเรียนรู้ใน “ค่ายบำเพ็ญประโยชน์ผดุงนารีสู่ชุมชน” เป็นกิจกรรมเพื่อปลูกฝังให้กลุ่มนักเรียนชั้นม. 6 ได้ร่วมกันบำเพ็ญประโยชน์ จัดขึ้นโดยความตั้งใจของอาจารย์สุจินตนา ประคำทอง และคณะ กิจกรรมนี้ได้จัดขึ้นที่บ้านสวนกุดร่อง ต.ท่าขอนยาง อ.กันทรวิชัย จ.มหาสารคาม โดยกิจกรรมครั้งนี้ถือได้ว่าเกิดจากความตั้งใจของอาจารย์ที่ได้สัมผัสบรรยากาศของความสุข ความสงบ เรียบง่ายในวิถีเกษตรกรรม อยากให้ศิษย์ได้มาสัมผัสบรรยากาศของท้องทุ่งนา และมีกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้นอกสถานที่ ซึ่ง เป็นที่มาของค่ายอาจารย์ได้บอกกับทีมว่า การทำกิจกรรมต้องอยู่บนเงื่อนไขของโรงเรียน กิจกรรมที่ทำมามีไม่หลากหลาย หากจะมีกิจกรรมนอกสถานที่ต้องอยู่ภายใต้กรอบของโรงเรียน
